What is a SOTO?
A SOTO is our "Story Of The One". Each Staff Member has one. It's the reason they keep coming back. It's the reason they smile and cry. It's the reason they know they are making a difference.
These are real stories from Royal Family Kids Camp Volunteers and Staff.

"A box of leftover handmade dolls was donated for the girls at camp. As we dug through the box, there just happened to be a single little ethnic doll, which was perfect because camper "C" was African American. But, this is the part of the story that touched me so deeply. When we asked her what she had named her new doll, she said "Precious". I immediately made the connection with the movie Precious. The movie portrays t is about a young black girl who is poor, abused, raped, and without hope. But she finds someone to help her and believe in her and she takes the first steps to making positive changes in her life. I have to admit - it kind of took my breath away to hear "C" name her doll Precious....did that mean she related to the character in the movie and had been through something similar??? Maybe......probably.......yet, here she was beautiful and smiling holding her doll. A girl who came to camp with her head down, not making eye contact and now she was smiling and SINGING!! So much change in just a few days time. God truly is amazing."
